Step-by-Step Guide to Applying Press-On Nails
1. Prep Your Natural Nails
Proper nail prep is the most important step for long-lasting press-ons.
Start by washing your hands thoroughly. Push back your cuticles using a cuticle pusher and lightly buff the surface of your nails. This removes shine and helps the glue adhere better.
Finally, wipe each nail with alcohol or nail cleanser to remove oils and dust.
2. Choose the Right Sizes
Most press-on nail kits come with multiple sizes. Lay them out and match each press-on to your natural nails.
The press-on should cover your nail from sidewall to sidewall without overlapping onto your skin. If a nail is slightly too large, gently file the sides until it fits perfectly.
Proper sizing makes the manicure look natural and prevents lifting later.
3. Apply Nail Glue or Adhesive Tabs
You can use either adhesive tabs for short-term wear or nail glue for a longer-lasting manicure.
